Born and educated in Great Britain to an English mother and a Pathan father Imran is an ethnic Yusuf Zai Pathan. He has spent much time from his earliest childhood to date in the land of his ancestors and continues to maintain a particular and lifelong interest in affairs related to Pakistan and Afghanistan. Imran has held a wide range of business and policy positions in many countries. He has served as a Special Advisor on Terrorism and the Muslim World at the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Director of Communications for the Syrian Media Centre in London, an advisor to the Government of Belarus, and an advisor to the British Conservative Party Group at WMDC. Imran is a graduate of the Department of War Studies at King’s College, London, the Pushkin Institute, Moscow, and Centre International de Formation Européenne, Nice. Imran is a member of the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) in London.
